Date Uploaded: [ 28-06-2007 ]      Filesize: [ 49k ]

The hedge fund industry continues to grow with no sign of let up - reaching over 9,000 hedge funds in 2007. An important factor behind the recent growth has been the rise in interest from institutional investors - hedge funds are no longer the preserve of wealthy private investors.

To succeed in attracting a share of institutional inflows into alternatives, hedge fund managers must be able meet these demands to compete effectively against fund of hedge funds or traditional managers in adopting alternative strategies supported by institutional grade operating models.

Steven Forsyth and David Young, Consultants, Morse, look at the common themes from operating models (or 'Supermodels') they have seen across a number of clients. Through their experience, they examine the pros and cons of each model, discuss the key factors to consider for choosing the appropriate model and assess what conclusions can be drawn.
