In this article, the Sunday Herald reports on how the UK Government's carbon reduction commitment (CRC) could lead businesses to look at options offshore. Energy-intensive data centres account for a large amount of a company's energy usuage due to the vast amount of servers being used.
"Brian Murray of IT consultants Morse told the Sunday Herald the CRC "failed to take account of the supply chain" and could give an advantage to companies "with a large employee base overseas... and fleets of cars, vans and trucks to distribute imports".
