In this article, Morse's Brian Murray discusses IT spending over 2009, and where organisations are likely to direct funds over the next year. In general, the recession means that organisations are seeking to reduce costs while at the same time pursuing projects with a more rapid ROI. However, most important is the need for businesses to spend their IT budgets intelligently.
"The need to reduce Capex is paramount" BrianMurray, chief technology strategist at the Morse Group, told CBR. "Companies are now looking at justifying IT spend and for that they need confidence in projects. It is a new approach to justification; companies are looking for ROI in six months rather than any longer than that."
