In this article, Morse's Grant Niven describes how Scotland, despite its many attractions, is curently not seen as a prime opportunity for outsourcing business processes. This is based on research conducted by Morse which revealed that only 32% of IT Directors in Scotland thought their organsiations viewed Scotland as a suitable location. A majority of those surveyed said that the Scottish executive was not doing enough to promote Scotland as a location for businesses.
"While senior executives in Scotland have had overwhelmingly positive first-hand experiences, it is disappointing to see that this important feedback isn't filtering up to the key decision makers at the companies they work for. As a result, there is a clear disconnect between the perception and the reality of doing business in Scotland that desperately needs to be fixed. With the regulatory problems facing several large outsourcers abroad, now is the time that businesses should be looking to take advantage of the benefits of basing their operations in Scotland."
