Morse’s Nick Cassidy discusses why the adoption of the Software as a Service model in the public sector has been relatively slow up to now, but how the ‘cashable efficiency’ of the model will begin to overwhelm other considerations over time.

 

Nick Cassidy, a business consultant at Morse, explains why adoption has been slow to date. "The first is that the basic infrastructure is still catching up with requirements. Secondly, few applications have been written for the public sector, and thirdly there's the corporate fear of moving things into the cloud. People are worried about moving sensitive data outside of the corporate firewall and being mauled by the media if someone loses it," he says.
