George
Consultant, Management Consulting
I joined Morse in 1999, from a background in a Big 4 accountancy firm, followed by a period as Head of Operations for Pooled Funds for a fund management house.
I chose a career with Morse to make use of my investment management industry knowledge, and to feed my appetite for constant intellectual challenge – which comes from the industry developments; from regularly meeting and working with different clients and staff, and from addressing change needs in different sectors of the investment management industry.
So, for example, in my years in Morse, I have covered everything from the introduction of new technology for Retails Funds to a Greenfield business case and operational model design for a Third Party Administrator.
There is an immense variety of assignment, not all of which is London-based. I have worked in England, Wales, Scotland and Europe (including Eastern Europe), with short visits to the USA.
One constant throughout has been the level of professional support from consultants and other colleagues, to enable me to make the best use of the intellectual capital accumulated by our team, and to enable me to access and utilise that information in my delivery to clients.
Morse has always had a strong professional culture – and our reputation for delivery is jealously protected; which (as you might expect) means personal pain and stress at times. In this aspect too, Morse has always given fair recognition of service "above and beyond" the call of duty.
Most importantly, there is a strong culture of humour and collegiate spirit – which has made my time here a great deal of fun.
