Chris - Consultant, Management Consulting

For me, there are three reasons why I enjoy working at Morse:

1. The contrast in working atmosphere between Morse and my previous employer, a global strategy company, is marked. Morse consultants instinctively work in a ‘Collegiate’ manner whereas the latter rarely achieved this despite all their best efforts. Partly this is because the teams at Morse tend be smaller and therefore close-knit, but mainly it is because we genuinely enjoy each others company and don't need to compete with one another; ambition is encouraged, just not ruthless ambition.

2. The assignments are all interesting and always varied. They range from discrete strategic and analytical pieces of work to full-blown programme management assignments lasting several months, with the potential to be based in almost any global location (although predominantly UK). The nicest part is the flexibility in staffing, with a great deal of attention being paid to matching the consultant to their desired project type and location. Again in contrast to my previous firm, if I want to work on strategic assignments in my home city of London (because of my young family) then my needs are accommodated.

3. Morse has ambitious growth targets, and this means we are encouraged to build businesses and client relationships. If you are at all entrepreneurial, then you will flourish at Morse. Of course, there are threshold standards of delivery that need to be met before you are given too much autonomy, but once you have met these then you will be supported as you develop propositions that can help clients with their issues. This entrepreneurial spirit is not something I have found anywhere before.
