Investing in 130/30 Funds 2008 is a conference which will look at the issues and challenges that 130/30 funds pose potential investors. These new strategies have seen huge investment from US investors with more than $50bn being allocated in the past year yet in Europe they have not quite taken off as fast.
Grant Cooper, Consultant, Morse, will be taking part in a panel debate which looks at Prime Brokers vs. Custodians. This debate will look at:
- Is it a misnomer to talk about prime brokers and custodians in competition?
- Does it favour hedge fund managers that they have existing relationships with prime brokers?
- How will this affect smaller long-only firms wanting to set up 130/30 products?
- How much of the implementation can custodians take on?
- Will custodians ever be able to develop the skills necessary to become a principal intermediary?
