The challenge
Tetley's challenge was to cost-effectively exploit the integrated planning functionality of newly purchased SAP Business Warehouse, to consolidate data from disparate business units in one place and improve planning and reporting. This involved defining new product classifications, creating a medium term and short term business plan and populating the tool with the company’s financial data for more detailed sales reporting.
The solution
With Morse’s help and advice, Tetley planned the stages of deployment and created an agreed common classification system for all its products. It also received support implementing its medium term plan using Business Warehouse. Further support and advice was offered whenever required during the different stages at the project, ensuring cost-effectiveness and staff up-skilling.
The benefits
Tetley is now able to benefit from consolidated sales performance reporting and can link its medium term plan, short term budget and actual sales data electronically for the first time. The company also achieved its aim of cost-effective, maximum value consultancy by engaging support on an as-and-when-required basis. This also enabled Tetley staff to ‘own’ the project and gain a comprehensive skills transfer.
