Skills and experience
You will be a key member of the System Administration Team providing 2nd/3rd level O/S support services, including the progression and resolution of O/S problems and your experience will include:
- Ability to build, install, configure and troubleshoot one or more products within own discipline (i.e. Solaris, Linux, etc.)
- Contribution to the development of multi-platform interoperability initiatives
- Extensive experience in the administration of the operating system(s)
- Knowledge of high end platforms, both servers and storage.
- Good knowledge of relational databases
- Detailed knowledge of TCP/IP, LDAP, LANS, WANS, NIS+, ODS, Storage fundamentals, Jumpstart
- Configuring of boot disks in various RAID levels using Volume Manager
- Detailed knowledge of VXFS, VXVM, Netback-up,
- Experience of implementing and configuring VCS and Jumpstart
- Good working knowledge of scripting (Perl / Shell)
- Experience of a trading/banking environment is essential
- Strong project planning and management skills
- Prepared to work outside standard business hours where necessary, including the provision of overnight support
