Support Engineer (Helpdesk)

A challenging but stimulating environment. Working in a team on a shift basis you will provide comprehensive helpdesk support on client assignments, answering calls, incidents and requests, project work and initiating call escalation to second line support engineers. You are required to be delivery oriented and require the utmost professionalism and customer focus.

Skills and experience
  • Assisting with the coordination of IT support to ensure that problems are resolved promptly and effectively
  • Proven experience in a telephone based support environment
  • Excellent telephone manner and clear speech
  • Basic PC knowledge
  • Understanding of Windows Operating Systems (2000/XP)
  • MS Office suite support experience
  • Familiar with the use of helpdesk systems (e.g. Remedy, Royal Blue etc.)
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Desirable:
    • Experience working within an IT department in a large corporate organisation
    • Knowledge of additional applications (e.g. Lotus Notes)
    • Telephony support experience
    • Understanding of the Banking environment
Qualifications
  • Relevant industry recognised qualifications an advantage
