Identify, Decommission

Asset Register

Using software, Morse can audit your current infrastructure and compile an asset register of your IT environment. From the register you gain an improved insight into how the assets are being used: which are redundant, old or not performing as well as they should, and what the total cost of ownership (TCO) of each IT asset is.

Understanding the TCO of the IT assets, including purchase price, cost of power consumption, cooling, maintenance and management, is invaluable when determining whether assets should be retired, replaced, or kept - and for how much longer.

Identify

Armed with the asset register, the first step is identifying which assets need to be moved on or retired. As part of your projects, our experienced consultants can advise on how to improve the efficiency of your estate, by upgrading or refreshing to new greener, more efficient and cost-effective technologies. Using the asset register, they can help you identify which assets make financial sense to replace; which can be retained and for how long; which are under-utilised; and which could be successfully redeployed elsewhere in the organisation.

Decommission

Morse is able to provide you with flexible resource in order to assist with decommissioning. We can offer a fully project managed service, which includes application stripping and system power down, to a basic on-site audit. Our fully integrated decommissioning service allows for the removal of equipment to begin.

Transport

The service incorporates the secure collection of the designated redundant machines from a location that suits you; this can be anywhere, from a data centre store room to a warehouse site. We ensure that a suitably sized vehicle is allocated for the collection. If necessary, the machines can be collected within 48 hours of being decommissioned.
